Yessss, it’s finally October. Time for Oktoberfest Manila 2017!
First, here are two ways to celebrate the much awaited beer-centric festivals in Manila and beyond.
While we’re all excited for Oktoberfest Manila 2017, it’s good to learn a bit how Oktoberfest started.
The first Oktoberfest was held in Germany in 1810, with festivities from October 12 up to October 17. It’s a festival that honored Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig’s marriage to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen.
It’s the world’s largest volksfest, i.e. “people’s festival”. They’d have beer festivals and fairs held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.
Eventually, the celebration was prolonged and moved forward into September. Why September? For better weather conditions. With warmer September nights, visitors could enjoy the fairs without feeling chilly.
Oktoberfest 2017 in Germany officially began last September 16 and will end on October 3.
Similarly, the San Miguel Oktoberfest Beer and Music Festival began with a kickoff party last September 18. Oktoberfest fans partied at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.
For this month, you can still catch these events at the following venues:

Another option for you to celebrate Oktoberfest is via German Club Manila.
The German Club Manila will celebrate its 79th Oktoberfest. Yes, 79th! It’s dubbed as the most authentic beer festival in the Philippines.
A ticket gives you free flow beer and a buffet of authentic Bavarian cuisine. Plus you get a souvenir beer mug and a chance to win raffle prizes. The Bavarian Sound Express will provide musical entertainment for everyone.
Ticket prices for 1-19 pax are as follows:
You can catch another round of BEERFEST on October 18. Enjoy unlimited ice-cold beers paired with sausages and cheese at the Old Swiss Inn.
Finally, here’s something you can do even if you don’t feel like partying.
